About the Brand:

Why Razormedic Photography? The name goes back before I ever picked up my first SLR camera. Back in 1999, I was working as a paramedic in Orlando, Florida. I had an EMT partner named Ronnie. Shortly after we were paired together, it occurred to Ronnie that there was a World Heavyweight Champion boxer from back in the 80’s and 90’s named Donovan ‘Razor’ Ruddock. As we shared the same last name, he took to referring to me as ‘Razor.’ Around the same time, searching for a catchy email address that was still personalized, but didn’t contain some iteration of my names or initials, razormedic911 was born. This quickly became my go to handle for most things on the web, and has stuck ever since.

As I picked up a camera, and began my travels through the world of photography, I found the need to brand my images as they were put out for all to see. It didn’t take much thought to adapt my default handle into a brand. Through three kids, several cameras, and many hours and clicks of growth and learning, I am proud to present to you the product named Razormedic Photography.

About the Artist:

Who is Jonathan Ruddock? I grew up on the sunny Space Coast of Florida, which has blessed me with wonderful, diverse environments, wildlife, and sights to hone my landscape photographic skills. I have also been blessed with three beautiful daughters, who are always willing, most of the time at least, to stand in as practice subjects as I have grown and developed my skills in the art of portraiture. The primary focus of my professional career, begun in my senior year of high school, has been the world of Emergency Medicine. Through this career, I have been blessed with an understanding of how short and precious our lives truly are, and the need to capture even the smallest moments in a frame.

I have always somewhat identified myself as an artist. I can remember getting in trouble in elementary school for not paying attention in class, doodling cartoons, cars, aircraft, anything that struck my fancy really, instead of taking notes. Through high school and into adulthood, I continued to love drawing. Even in my nursing school notebooks you will find doodles in the margins. It wasn’t really until the impending birth of my oldest daughter that I picked up an SLR camera, and began to elevate my picture taking from snapshots to actual artistic compositions, something I continue to explore and grow to this day.
